NRA BASIC PISTOL SHOOTING INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION COURSE
Must have completed BIT in the last 12 months. If BIT has been completed, Instructor Candidate must furnish proof of completion in order to be exempt from the BIT portion.
The pre-course qualification in Appendix 5 (see link below) must be conducted prior to or during the course. Only those candidates who achieve satisfactory scores in the pre-course qualification, and who meet other specified requirements for NRA Pistol instructors are eligible for certification.
The pre-course qualification includes the following:
I. Complete Phase I of the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course (click the link) and achieve a passing score of 90% or higher AND must have attended Basic Pistol Instructor Lead Training.
II. The NRA pre-course qualification "skills exam" will have a minimum passing score of 80 out of a possible 100 points (see link below)
